Leah and Rob’s vision for their Tuscany elopement began long before they got engaged – in fact, it began when Leah was a young girl on a trip to Italy with her family. They stayed at a beautiful agriturismo in Tuscany where Leah fell in love with the charm and splendor of the Italian countryside.
Years later when they got engaged and tried to plan a traditional wedding, they felt stressed and like this wasn’t right for them. She remembered her time in Italy and they both fell in love with the idea of eloping there.
Their vision was simple: an agriturismo like the one Leah had visited as a child, lots of time with their closest loved ones, and two entire days full of experiencing all the beauty that Tuscany had to offer them.
Their first day began with a beautiful illustration of how elopements can be tailor-made to fit your vision. They started with breakfast at La Moscadella, everyone sharing food and laughs before they stepped outside to honor their family tradition of board games. What followed was hours of laughter, finger pointing, arm crossing, and lots of love.
Then came time for getting ready with friends and family. After they prepared all of their elegant wedding details, they shared intimate moments, exchanged gifts, and had first looks with their loved ones.
Then came the gorgeous ceremony with the soft Tuscan sunshine shining down on them, they joined hands in front of an old olive tree – we chose this ceremony location after assessing where the sun would be, and we felt an ancient olive tree was the perfect encapsulation of their Tuscany elopement and the decades of growth their marriage would enjoy.
Leah and Rob are tender-hearted and loving souls, so as every single one of their guests took a turn offering well-wishes to them, there wasn’t a single dry eye in all of Italy (including behind the cameras). The love their family showered on them was truly beautiful to witness.
After Rob scooped Leah up like an Italian princess, they hugged their loved ones tight, popped champagne, and ate an outstanding Italian cream cake, before setting off on their own.
They took the first couple hours of their marriage to themselves as they explored a historic church overlooking the Tuscan countryside and exchanged heart-warming private vows that brought even more tears of joy down their faces.
And to continue the theme of meaningful moments, we then gave them the letters that their siblings had written out for each of them, long messages of appreciation and praise from their own sibling, as well as their spouse’s. One of many unique elements that made their day so special.
After this time alone they rejoined their family to end the day exactly how it began, at a long table with their loved ones, enjoying good food, good wine, and great company late into the night: “Fare serata“
Their first day took them through the countryside, so their second day they wanted to explore one of the medieval cities of Tuscany. Assisi with its benevolent spiritual history of St. Francis of Assisi and stunning architecture was the perfect choice.
They started by overlooking the city, walking hand-in-hand as they gazed out across the tile roofs, churches, and rolling hills beyond. Then after meeting up with their family at a garden cafe in the heart of the city with a stunning view, they began to explore the romantic side streets and elegant cathedrals of this Tuscan jewel.
They shared tender moments and laughter before finally ending the day overlooking St. Francis Cathedral, the crown jewel of Assisi built after a man known for his love and kindness – a fitting place for these two kind-hearted people to spend the last moments of their wedding.
After an emotional private first dance as the sun got low, they stood together and gazed up at the cathedral, now illuminated against the night sky. Planning their timeline to capture the Basilica of St. Francis lit up at night was one of those magical details that made their elopement unforgettable.
Through every minute of their elopement, whether with family or alone, Leah and Rob enjoyed an experience that filled their souls with life and their hearts with love.

Leah and Rob came to us with their ceremony location already chosen at La Moscadella since it had special meaning to Leah from her childhood. We helped them with just about everything else, planning a two-day timeline that incorporated all the different meaningful moments they wanted – including moments with family, private vows, sibling letters, and capturing the Basilica of Assisi lit up at night.
We leaned into the surroundings and captured cinematic photos that drew out the natural beauty of Tuscany and the emotions of Leah and Rob. We focused on prompts that drew out their natural joy and emotions for each other, and poses that drew on the editorial vibe of Tuscany. October was an amazing time for their elopement with ideal weather, harvest season beauty, and that golden Tuscan light.
We’re in love with the magical photos and even more magical experience that we co-created with Leah and Rob!
Thinking about eloping? Let’s make it 100% YOU.

“They went above and beyond to scout additional spontaneous locations that became some of our most cherished memories of our elopement. We cannot recommend Sammie and Micah enough!”
“Sammie and Micah did such an amazing job with helping us plan and execute our elopement vision in Italy, despite our concerns about meeting our expectations with an overseas elopement. Their willingness to plan the experience with us weeks in advance helped us develop a perfect itinerary that exceeded our expectations and relieved some stress we had in picking locations overseas.
When we eventually got to the big day, they went above and beyond to research/scout additional spontaneous locations that became some of our most cherished memories of our elopement. The days of our shoots were long but Sammie and Micah made the experience relaxed and care free which allowed us to capture amazing photos despite not feeling our best the entire day. Their prompts, direction, and general photography skills made the experience so easy for us when we had concerns certain backgrounds or lighting may not turn out as we thought.
We cannot recommend using Sammie and Micah enough for anyone’s elopement plans – we are so thankful to them for helping us capture timeless memories!”

As fellow free spirits, dreamers, world travelers, and roadtrippers – we know that even on a normal day, it’s hard to choose what adventure to take. It’s no surprise that when it comes to the once in a lifetime adventure of getting married, choosing just one path feels nearly impossible.
So… choose two or three. Share your vows privately in Italy and come back to the West Coast to celebrate with your loved ones. Or have your wedding ceremony in Switzerland and then share a honeymoon adventure in Morocco.
