They were so flexible in every way. We faced so many obstacles during our planning and decision process, and they handled each change with such grace and compassion. Only a few months prior to our elopement, we ended up completely changing our location from within the USA to international. This was an overwhelming idea, and neither myself nor my fiancé (now husband) had ever been to Europe. This seemed crazy and impossible at first. But, Sammie and Micah showed us how it is SO possible to go wherever your heart desires. To dream big! They answered every single question, provided resources, and gave timely support at all times. Not only were they flexible prior to the event, but they were also so adaptable and prepared during the event. We experienced insane weather in the Dolomites of Italy, and they were ready with hand warmers, extra clothes, snacks, water, and a Plan B C D and F haha (: They put in SO many hours of dedication, scouting, researching, etc. to make sure we found the perfect spot to say our vows. And wow, we did. We found a stunning meadow in the mountains with wildflowers to express our love. We also went on the most mind blowing hike and got ALL the epic shots. They are willing to get down and dirty to get you every picture!
In addition to their flexibility, they are so kind. The vibe they brought on our wedding day was perfect. We always felt loved and supported. There was no discomfort behind the camera. Our guests adored them as well! Our 3 year old son even enjoyed playing with Micah in the meadow. They are incredibly easy to get along with and so motivating! Now we see them as friends and can only hope we cross paths again one day.
And of course, when we received our photos back, we were blown away by every image. We were emotional. Sammie and Micah also provided multiple videos that made me cry (more than once). Every person we show our wedding photos to is shocked. They cannot believe where we went, what we did together, and the incredible shots our photographers captured.

“Where do we even begin to express our gratitude for the incredible duo that is Chaffins Photography? Within our first (virtual) meeting we knew we were in good hands, but our whole wedding experience was exceptional - in large part due to Sammie and Micah!
We had a two day adventure with Sammie and Micah. Day 1 was our wedding day and it was a whirlwind of emotions, love, and joy. Max and I had private vows the morning of our ceremony. The Chaffins found us a lovely secluded hike, so our vows really were just for us. We weren’t worried about everyone hearing them, it was a private moment for us to reflect on our special day, before it happens. Every moment of our first day was captured by the Chaffins; from getting coffee together at a coffee shop, going on a hike, exchanging personal vows, heading to the venue, getting ready, etc. Seeing pictures from our ceremony day brings tears to our eyes; their attention to detail, creativity and passion for their craft really showed; we will cherish these pictures forever.
Day two we met 4 hours away in Santa Cruz and had a full day! We started with lunch, then headed to Henry Cowell State Park and Shark Fin Cove. We had this second day to ourselves, where we were fully immersed in nature and each other. Not only are they incredibly talented photographers, but they are also wonderful people to work with. Their calm and reassuring presence helped us feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera, allowing them to capture the genuine essence of our love and happiness.

“When my wife and I decided that we wanted to skip the big traditional wedding and go for an intimate mountain wedding, that was the easiest part of the decision. We didn’t know where to start.
We met with Sammie and Micah and instantly clicked. When we got off the first zoom meeting with them we knew they were the best fit for us to help us plan our most important day. In a short time, they truly did their best to get to know us to help plan something that was just a thought in our heads.
Our two day wedding experience in Olympic National Park exceeded our expectations in every way. Sammie and Micah helped us every step of the way. “October 25th of 2023 we became Mr. & Mrs. Marino surrounded by our closest friends/ family and dogs in a small ceremony in Vermont. We can’t speak highly enough about Sammie and Micah. “When the conversation of marriage came up in our relationship, we began by exploring many options. We looked over different venues, caterers, florists and everything else in between. We were scrolling Instagram and ran into an elopement photographers page. That page was the Chaffins! We hopped on a call with them that same week and we absolutely loved how easy they were to work with. Many venues put up a lot of “ifs and buts” but Sammie and Micah made sure to do whatever they could to help our dream wedding day come to fruition. We had mapped out a plan over the course of a year or so and began writing down our ideas and schedules.
The day of, they showed up to our hotel in Groveland, CA and began the photo shoot. They were super easy to talk to, great when it came to answering questions, great with advice and very flexible on some last minute changes to our schedule. Our day went super smooth.
They made us feel so comfortable in our photos. My wife and I have been in three other wedding parties and we always talked about how uncomfortable it was to do certain poses or how to act in front of the camera. The Chaffins made everything natural. No pressure, no complicated poses, no constant fixing postures, no “getting annoyed that we can’t figure the pose out” ( we dealt with this before) lol, everything was smooth! It was definitely a very fun time.
When it came down to the ceremony, they couldn’t have picked a much more secluded, beautiful, intimate little setting for our crowd of 25 people. Yosemite was the perfect venue for us. Sammie and Micah were absolutely amazing from beginning to end. Throughout the booking, planning, phone calls with questions about permits and scheduling, to even reminding us to eat the day of our elopement!
We couldn’t have picked a better couple to help us capture our day. We got a preview of the pictures a week or so later and got our full album a couple of weeks after. We were so happy with the quality and all the pictures they got. There were a few moments that we were so happy they captured as well. To this day, we look back on that date in Yosemite and still remember all the fun we had and all the memories it brought us.
