After attending multiple big weddings together, Dan and Amanda found themselves leaving each one saying, “that was beautiful, but that isn’t for us”.
As avid travelers and nature lovers, they couldn’t stop dreaming of a ceremony in the mountains, spending their wedding hiking through the forest and along the water.
When they told us all of this, we knew that Olympic National Park would be a perfect choice for them. With mountains, rainforests, waterfalls, lakes, and beaches, Olympic is a nature lover’s dream come true. With their tight-knit community and desire for adventure, a two-day elopement was the perfect fit so they could spend a day with their guests and a day all by themselves.
And their adventure actually started weeks before their wedding day: Because they rented a camper van and drove across the entire country with their 1-year-old son, stopping and camping at national parks all across the country!

Their elopement began surrounded by their family as they got ready at a beautiful Airbnb, both parents getting to share sweet moments with their son before driving up to the mountains for their ceremony.
Seeing each other for the first time, standing amongst the evergreen trees in their wedding attire, Dan and Amanda both exploded with joy and carried it throughout their entire ceremony.
Their guests then left to prepare an intimate reception while Dan and Amanda took a quiet moment hiking through the mountains to enjoy the first couple hours of their marriage all to themselves. They returned for a night full of laughter, good food, and fun dancing. (We had to hop in and dance for a song after we got pictures!)
Their second day began in the very camper van they’d journeyed all across the USA in, parked by a mountain river. They took their son to a cascading waterfall, splashing around in the pool below before passing him off to their parents.
They struck out on their next adventure, hiking through the only rainforest in the mainland US, with moss hanging from every tree and the air thick with the feeling of life.
The last stop was pure magic: Ruby Beach, one of the best places to explore the moody Washington coastline. They wandered across the beach hand in hand, exploring rock formations as ethereal fog blew across the ocean. After staying warm with blankets and dancing, they exchanged their private vows, intimate words for their ears only.
They shared an intimate first dance and then as the light got low, these two ran into the freezing Pacific Ocean, splashing and cheering as they let loose every last bit of joyful energy.
Their elopement ended the same way they live their life together: Stepping into the wild hand-in-hand with smiles on their faces.

“Sammie and Micah helped us every step of the way. Our wedding would not have been what it was without them.”
“We met with Sammie and Micah and instantly clicked. When we got off the first zoom meeting with them we knew they were the best fit for us to help us plan our most important day.
And WOW, the photos were just unbelievable. It’s been about 6 months since our adventure wedding and we still go through them daily and reminisce. The photos truly captured our love, they were extremely easy to be ourselves around, everything just felt natural. They are extremely professional and beyond talented.
Our two day wedding experience in Olympic National Park exceeded our expectations in every way. Sammie and Micah helped us every step of the way.
And what separates Sammie and Micah from your typical wedding photographers, is the bond we developed along the way. It was a blessing that we found them, our wedding would not have been what it was without them.”
