2-State Elopement in California Redwoods & Oregon Coast

Why They Eloped in Multiple States:

Bri and Bert never envisioned having a traditional wedding and had always dreamed of saying intimate vows surrounded by nature. Their life together began by saving tiny lives together, working as vet technicians they quickly fell in love with each other’s sense of humor and compassion.

With their love of the outdoors and desire for a laid-back elopement, we knew that Redwood National Park and Secret Beach would be perfect for their elopement. The combination of towering redwood trees so close to the dramatic Oregon Coast makes this one of our favorite places for elopements in the US!

Their Elopement:

Redwood Ceremony & Hike + Oregon Coast Sunset

Bri and Bert’s wedding is a perfect example of how to include loved ones in your elopement while still making space for just the two of you. Their day began in a peaceful Airbnb, full of excitement as we captured their quiet getting-ready moments.

They chose to have a private look before the ceremony so they could savor that moment alone together. With just a few loved ones present, they had a beautiful ceremony beneath the swaying redwood trees, shared cake and champagne, and then set off to explore and exchange private vows, just the two of them.

As we hiked a short trail through the majestic redwoods, Bri and Bert came alive—you could tell how much they loved nature! They laughed and danced, sharing silly and sweet moments like only two best friends in love could.

We planned their timeline knowing sunset at Secret Beach is AMAZING, so we headed to the coast for golden hour. They paused to soak in the view before we explored and captured the most stunning photos.

Secret Beach is a place that takes your breath away, and what better spot to spend your wedding day than somewhere that mirrors the beauty of your relationship?

As the sun sank low, they began their private vows. We couldn’t hear their words over the crashing waves, but the love on their faces said everything. (Just look at the photos!)

After wiping away happy tears and dancing their first dance on the beach, we captured blue hour photos—one of our favorite times when the light turns moody and magical.

To end the night, they did two of our favorite elopement activities: a lantern-lit picnic and stargazing!

Far from city lights, the stars at Secret Beach are unreal. Staring up at them makes you feel small in the best way – you know you’re a part of something beautiful and intentional, you know that you matter.

They lay there, listening to the waves and counting stars… just a couple of kids in love, spending their wedding day exactly how they wanted to.

As fellow free spirits, dreamers, world travelers, and roadtrippers – we know that even on a normal day, it’s hard to choose what adventure to take. It’s no surprise that when it comes to the once in a lifetime adventure of getting married, choosing just one path feels nearly impossible.

So… choose two or three. Share your vows privately in Italy and come back to the West Coast to celebrate with your loved ones. Or have your wedding ceremony in Switzerland and then share a honeymoon adventure in Morocco.
