Sam & Alec’s Story:

Having an elopement means having a wedding experience that is 100% true to who you are, where you’re free to BE true to who you are.

Sam and Alec embraced this idea to the fullest during their North Cascades elopement! They knew that they wanted 2 things for their wedding:

1. For the whole thing to be focused solely on their marriage, not worrying about anything else.
2. “Big, dramatic, MOUNTAINS!” – Sam

After bonding over late-night karaoke on a trip with friends, their love for hiking grew them even closer, so we suggested the North Cascades in Washington for their elopement and it was the perfect fit.

 

Their North Cascades Elopement

Sam and Alec knew they were eloping in the right place when they found their Airbnb – a stunning cabin in the North Cascades sitting on a glacier-fed river with a beautiful design clearly made for outdoor lovers. Where you stay for your elopement is a huge part of your experience and you should always invest in staying somewhere you love!

The day began with Sam and Alec getting ready separately, then sharing a first look on the deck of their Airbnb. The river flowed softly in the background as they laughed and cried on the deck of this cabin they’d come to love so much.

Sam and Alec love spending time in nature and hiking together so it was the perfect fit to go for a hike during their elopement! 

The entire hike they were constantly making jokes, doing bits, and whatever else they could do to make each other laugh hysterically. Their ability to do that and then just a few minutes later share the most tender, intimate moment was the ultimate expression of who they are as a couple, and therefore the perfect way to spend their wedding day!

When we reached the peak after a long climb, Sam and Alec took their time to soak it all in, holding hands as they enjoyed the panoramic mountain views. Standing on a cliff overlooking an alpine lake, they shared their vows on the mountaintop for only them to hear.

Mountain top sunsets are some of the best in the world so we made sure to scout the mountain ahead of time to see where the best view would be! They stood completely above the clouds and as the sun set it lit the clouds and mountains on fire with the most beautiful colors. 

When we made Sam and Alec’s timeline we made sure to make it 100% them which meant including time for their after-hike tradition of burgers and beer. After falling in love singing karaoke, they brought their story full circle and sang the same song at the restaurant on their wedding day! Moments like this show the beauty of staying open-minded and embracing the adventure at every turn of your elopement.

After singing their hearts out they ended the day back at their beloved cabin, snuggled into each other in front of a crackling fire. 

 During their elopement, Sam and Alec laughed, cried, hiked, sang, laughed some more, and during it all, they got to be truly, 100% THEM.
