Bri and Bert never envisioned having a traditional wedding and had always dreamed of saying intimate vows surrounded by nature. Their life together began by saving tiny lives together, working as vet technicians they quickly fell in love with each other’s sense of humor and compassion.
With their love of the outdoors and desire for a laid-back elopement, we knew that Redwood National Park and Secret Beach would be perfect for their elopement. The combination of towering redwood trees so close to the dramatic Oregon Coast makes this one of our favorite places for elopements in the US!
Bri and Bert’s wedding is a perfect example of how you can include your loved ones in your elopement while still having time for just the two of you. Their day started with them getting ready in their beautiful Airbnb, a sense of peace and excitement filling the air as we captured their intimate moments.
Bri and Bert chose to have a private look before their ceremony began so they could take time to savor the moment just the two of them. With just a few loved ones present they had a beautiful ceremony underneath the swaying redwood trees, shared some cake and champagne, then left to explore and exchange private vows just the two of them.
As we hiked along a short trail through the majestic redwoods, Bri and Bert came alive in a way that made it so clear how much they loved nature! They laughed and danced, sharing silly and intimate moments like only two best friends in love could.
When we made Bri and Bert their elopement timeline, we knew that sunset at Secret Beach is AMAZING so we went to the coast for golden hour. They slowed down and soaked in their incredible first sight of the beach before we began to explore all around and take the most gorgeous photos!
Secret Beach is a landscape that takes your breath away every time, and what better place to spend your elopement than somewhere that reflects the beauty of your own relationship?
When the sun got low in the sky they began to share their private vows – we couldn’t hear their words over the sounds of the ocean, but the looks of love on their faces were everything. (Just look at the photos!)
After wiping away their tears of joy and dancing their first dance together on the beach, the sun went down and we took blue hour photos, one of our favorite times of day when the light gets moody and beautiful.
It was time for the final two activities of Bri and Bert’s elopement, the first was a lantern-light picnic to enjoy some snacks and watch the landscape get dark, and next was one of our favorite elopement activities: Stargazing!
Far away from any major cities, the stars on Secret Beach are magnificent, staring at them makes you feel incredibly small in the best way because you know you’re a part of something beautiful and intentional, you know that you matter.
So they lay there on the beach, listening to the waves and counting the stars – just a couple of kids in love, spending their wedding day exactly how they wanted to.

As fellow free spirits, dreamers, world travelers, and roadtrippers – we know that even on a normal day, it’s hard to choose what adventure to take. It’s no surprise that when it comes to the once in a lifetime adventure of getting married, choosing just one path feels nearly impossible.
So… choose two or three. Share your vows privately in Italy and come back to the West Coast to celebrate with your loved ones. Or have your wedding ceremony in Switzerland and then share a honeymoon adventure in Morocco.

Especially on your wedding day.
as vibrant as the sky at sunset.
as free as the breath moving through you.
as unstoppable as the crashing waves.
as complete as your interlocked fingers.
